Hillcrest Christian College is an Independent, Co-educational school, with over 1,400 students spanning ELC to VCE. The College is located near Berwick in south-east Melbourne on 55 hectares and includes an Equestrian Centre.The College invites applications from suitably qualified and enthusiastic candidates for the position of Agricultural and Horticultural Teacher, commencing in Term 3, 2019. This is a rare opportunity to secure a specialist role.The successful candidate will have:the desire to teach in an environment where both Christian values and academic excellence are emphasisedthe ability to teach Agriculture and Horticulture, Science and related disciplines across Years 7 to 12proven ability to drive academic achievement whilst supporting a diversity of learnersrelevant academic qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Agricultural Science or similar) and a commitment to ongoing professional learningthe ability to integrate digital technologies into the classroomThe expertise, enthusiasm and capacity to manage the school farm and coordinate extra-curricular programs including stud sheep showing will be an advantage.The teaching allocation may also include some combination of a daily pastoral class, Christian Studies class each week and Sport class once a fortnight.A responsibility allowance (time release and remuneration) will apply where Agricultural and Horticultural Coordinator responsibilities are undertaken.
