Hillcrest provides a supportive environment for students and staff and excellent facilities.Hillcrest Christian College is an Independent, Co-educational school, with over 1,400 students spanning ELC to VCE. In 2018 the College will consists of Primary (ELC to Year 6) and Secondary (Years 7-12) sections, with modern facilities at Clyde North. The College invites applications from suitably qualified and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join the Learning Support in either the Primary or Secondary teams: Secondary – assisting Year 10-12 students with English (Tuesday to Friday)Secondary – assisting Year 9-12 students with Mathematics (Tuesday to Friday)Primary – assisting Year 2-6 students with literacy and numeracy (Monday to Friday), approximately 25-32 periods per fortnightPrimary – Speech Therapy Assistant, working under the direction of a Speech Pathologist and Learning Support Coordinator to implement individual therapy plans for students, approximately 49 periods per fortnight (refer to separate advertisement) The successful candidates will have: the desire to assist teachers and students in an environment where both Christian values and academic excellence are emphasisedproven ability to support a diversity of learners with literacy and numeracy skills under the supervision and direction of teachersexperience putting into practice support strategies and applying the principles of inclusion and diversitythe ability to relate professionally to studentsa commitment to ongoing professional learninga minimum qualification of a Certificate of Education Support - Integration Aide/Teacher Aide or Certificate III in Education Support for working with Junior and Middle School students; and/orhigher level proficiency in mathematics and competency in English - if applying to work with Secondary students Applicants must be able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to the Christian ethos of Hillcrest.Hillcrest Christian College is a child safe employer and is committed to the welfare of children and their protection.
