Crest Education comprises two Independent, Coeducational schools with over 1800 students, an Equestrian Centre and Environmental Centre at Clyde North. Hillcrest Christian College, established in 1981, operates from Early Learning to VCE levels. Rivercrest Christian College, which opened in 2014, has Early Learning to Year 6 students. The Ayr Hill Equestrian Centre caters for students from Year 5 at Hillcrest and Rivercrest. We invite applications from a suitably experienced Equestrian Trainer/Coach to work as part of the Equestrian teaching team and reporting to the Equestrian Centre Manager. The successful candidate will have the ability to deal directly with students who are participating in a range of programs – elective school subjects, after-school and holiday lessons, as well as extra-curricular competitions and events. You will use your outstanding skills to: Instruct students undertaking Equestrian electives during school hours.Instruct students competing in interschool or other competitions to ensure the students are at a suitable standard and are safe to compete.Assist with horse suitability audits, assessing and allocating horse and rider combinations.Assist with writing student reports each semester.Allocate stables and day yards, as needed.Assist in schooling the herd as required. You are required to hold a relevant riding instructor qualification (minimum Equestrian Australia Introductory Coach or equivalent) and have the demonstrated adaptability to be an all-rounder in performing equestrian tasks.Previous experience in a similar role in an educational environment will be valued.A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification would be an advantage, together with eligibility for Victorian Institute of Teaching Permission to Teach.Your strengths include the ability to multitask, communicate effectively and create strong professional relationships with the academic, administrative and property services staff.
